CONCETTA K. ANTICO ~ SAN DIEGO ARTIST AND FINE OIL PAINTING EDUCATOR AT THE SALON OF ART SCHOOL
About the Artist-
A native of Sydney, Australia Concetta K. Antico has painted with oils since childhood. Her talent resonated throughout her long fine art career. In the spirit of great oil painting instructors before her such as Chase & Henri, Ms. Antico has personally inspired thousands of oil painting students for over 20 years at her Salon of Art oil painting studio.

As a fine artist, the uniqueness of Ms. Antico’s work is the result a divine marriage between the artist and nature. Her style is one of dissolving forms floating in compositions that are edgy and surprising. The vigor of her brushstrokes evoke master Impressionists Morisot and Singer-Sargent with their loose representations and “movement”. She preserves the fleeting beauty and truth of life through her paintings. Her quest is to portray the essence and energy of immediate impressions left upon her. Ms. Antico’s  subjects speak from the canvas with visual conversations born of the human eye and bliss of the heart.

To capture life’s loveliness and to ensure that it will be sustaining, she limits each work to one sitting. As with childbirth, she has complete faith that paintings exist in their purest form when they enter this reality. She believes that amendments make an original a substitution… Her technical dialogue calls for deft value, color, form and poetic brushstrokes, performed systematically, in one act. This synergy yields visual stories onto her canvas, and they in turn generate a life force of their own when viewed. She states, “To see my art is to know me, what stirs my mind and what will live forever in my heart.”

Ms. Antico is a highly successful self represented artist. Her works reside in hundreds of private collections across the United States and internationally. Her work has been the focus of numerous public shows and has benefited many charitable events. Today, she focuses on the artistic enrichment of others through education and instruction along with the promotion of her own fine oil alla prima & en plein air works. Ms. Antico is also the Founder of The San Diego Plein Air Painters Association to benefit the interests of artists who paint outdoors with oil.
